Boone's Career

He got his start in Dorchester:
Dorchester Minor Hockey Association
​He moved to AAA Minor Hockey:

Elgin Middlesex Chiefs

​Next came the OHL:

Oshawa Generals

Boone started his hockey playing days at the age of 4 in Dorchester. He played in Dorchester from Junior Tyke, to Tyke and finally into the Novice age group. 

 

Boone then advanced to AAA hockey with the Elgin Middlesex Hockey Association. He played in AAA hockey from 2001 - 2008 and served as captain for the Chiefs for his last 5 years.

In 2009 Boone began playing for the Oshawa Generals. In Boone's second year he was named Captain of the Generals, a position he maintained until he moved to the NHL.

Finally he reached the NHL:
Columbus Blue Jackets

Boone was drafted to the Columbus Blue
Jackets in 2011 with the 37th overall pick and began playing in the NHL in 2013.

He recently finished his sixth year in the NHL where he served as Alternate Captain since 2015 for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In the 2015/16 season Boone was 1 of 28 players in the NHL this year to reach 30 goals. 

 

World Championships Boone has participated in:
  • 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge - Timmins, ON

    • Captain - Canada placed 2nd overall​

  • 2011 World Under-18 Hockey Challenge - Czech Republic

    • Alternative Captain - Canada placed 1st overall​

  • 2012 World Junior Championships - Calgary/Edmonton

    • Canada placed 3rd overall​

  • 2013 World Junior Championships - Moscow, Russia

    • Canada placed 4th overall​

  • 2016 IIHF World Championships - Moscow, Russia

    • May 6 - 22, 2016​
